Faiteau Foundation started as a group of family and friends from Les Cayes, Cavaillon, Bonne Fin, Sudre, Pliche and Policard, who were fortunate enough to have migrated to the United States and Canada, decided to extend friendship and support to the needy still living in Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere.
Faiteau Foundation also has a group in Haiti, made of individuals of all faiths and backgrounds who volunteer their time, skills and resources to the success of our mission. Faiteau Foundation incorporated in 2021, is an independent 501 (c) (3) entity. As a result, Faiteau Foundation is able to accept tax deductible gifts.
The initial emphasis was to promote education in the southern section of Haiti, as an enriched mind is the key to end poverty. Wanting to make a difference, and by first focusing on access to education in Haiti, Faiteau Foundation led by Rosette Faiteau Goutier, a native of Cavaillon, has been paying primary and secondary school tuition for over 100 Haitian children in order to allow them to have a better education and broaden their minds. That initiative started 10 years ago, and the Faiteau Foundation has been able to witness the difference education has made, as steady progress has been observed in the suburbs of Les Cayes, as these children who are the future of Haiti continue to enrich their minds.
The next step is to build professional schools in the area, to further provide these individuals with the resources needed in order to make Haiti more competitive around the world. Another project the Faiteau Foundation started is the installation of solar panel powered lights (Lampadaires) in the streets of Bonne- Fin Sudre, Burry, and Policard. That project was delayed by the most recent August 2021 earthquake. Staff in Haiti have since re-started the installation of these lights. Our next project is to put more lights in the area of Pliche and Camaque. Another initiative the Faiteau Foundation would like to undertake is the construction of hospital and clinics, and implementation of mobile clinic in the area. That would allow a nurse to reach out to sick individual and provide them with the appropriate care right at home if they are not able to make it to a hospital.
Haiti reports some of the world’s worst heath indicators (crude death rate, life expectancy, infant mortality rate, maternal mortality rate) which continue to impede the country’s development. A large percentage of the population lack access to essential health and nutrition services, and HealthCare in Haiti has the highest rates of infant, under five and maternal mortality in the Western Hemisphere. One Family, A Shared Heritage
The Faiteau family traces its heritage through four brothers whose descendants today carry several variations of the family name. Over the years, and for different reasons, the name has appeared in several forms, including Faiteau, Feteau, Fetau, Pheto, and Pheteau. While the spelling may differ from one branch of the family to another, each reflects a connection to the same family history and heritage.
In recognizing these different spellings, Faiteau Foundation for Health & Education honors the history and heritage of the extended family from which its name originated. The Foundation itself, however, is an independent nonprofit organization governed by its established leadership and Board of Directors and operated in accordance with its charitable mission.

Long before the Faiteau Foundation for Health & Education envisioned building a school in Haiti, Steven Foley believed in its mission.
In those early days, Rosette Goutier and her family were focused on finding ways to help children in Haiti and provide financial assistance to families in need. Steven was among the very first people to recognize the potential of that vision and encourage them to think about how their desire to help could grow into something greater.
His commitment went far beyond words. After finishing his work shift, Steven would often come to the Goutier home in Attleboro, Massachusetts, in the evening. Together, they would sit, talk, exchange ideas, and explore how a foundation could be created to provide lasting opportunities for children and families in Haiti.
Steven also supported the mission financially, demonstrating through both his time and generosity that he genuinely believed in what the Foundation could become.
The school and campus that are taking shape today were not yet part of the plan during those early conversations. But the spirit behind them was already there: a desire to give children hope, opportunity, education, and a better future.

A Promise Never Forgotten
Rosette Goutier was born and raised in Sudre, Haiti, where she experienced firsthand the challenges many families faced in providing their children with an education. Although she later immigrated to the United States, she never forgot her roots or the children she left behind.
In 2010, she began sponsoring a small group of students, believing that education was the most powerful way to break the cycle of poverty. As more children needed help, her vision continued to grow.
That vision became the Faiteau Foundation for Health & Education. Today, the Foundation is building the Faiteau Centre de Formation Chrétienne—a school that will provide Christian education, nutritious meals, healthcare services, vocational training, and hope for generations of Haitian children.
What started with one woman’s compassion has become a mission shared by volunteers, supporters, and communities working together to transform lives through faith, education, and love.

Today, Faiteau Foundation is building more than a school—we are building hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for generations of Haitian children.
The Faiteau Centre de Formation Chrétienne is being developed to provide children with a safe place to learn, grow, and prepare for a better future. Our vision extends beyond the classroom by addressing the physical, spiritual, and practical needs of the communities we serve.
When completed, the Faiteau Centre de Formation Chrétienne campus will include:
